Book 1, Chapter 38

After a long walk and a lot of yelling at me later (even though my descriptions of Rachel – though slightly gratuitous – had not been inaccurate) Ean stomped into his apartment with slumped shoulders. “I can’t believe I got sent home to ‘recuperate’,” he finally grumbled to no one in particular.

“Hey,” said JD from where he lounged on the couch, playing Fantasy Fighter. “At least you have a job.”

“Fair enough,” Ean said with a wry grin. “And a free day off, I guess. If only I had something to do with it.”

JD sat up. “Easily solved,” he declared. “I have years of video games to catch up on. Shall we start with some versus Space Strategy 2?”

Ean laughed. “Yeah, sounds good.”

“Cool,” JD said. He stood up. “Now, I don’t suppose you have an extra computer, do you?”
