Meanwhile, Ean and his companions pressed on into the alien ship: blissfully unaware that they were under observation by remote sensors and wholly ignorant of the reception being prepared for them in the aliens’ control room.

Ean stopped. “Hey, guys, we should probably proceed with caution,” he said. “We’re under remote observation, and I think the aliens are preparing some kind of reception for us in their control room.”

“<Really?>” Sakura asked. “<What makes you say that?>”

“<Just call it a hunch,>” Ean answered. And never mind that he was ruining the dramatic tension I’d been trying to create.

“Cool,” said JD, lowering his laser pistols. “I hope they have those little sandwiches with the toothpicks in them.”
