Book 2, Chapter 063

Sakura squeezed her eyes shut tight and thought: ow. At the other end of the room she could hear JD and Ean, but she couldn’t really focus on them. Instead, she was struggling with her own disbelief.

<I knew he was fast,> she thought. <And strong. But he made that look easy.> She winced and shifted slightly under the books. <No,> she corrected herself. <For him that was easy.> She opened her eyes enough to squint at JD.

<He has a nice butt,> Sakura observed in an idle nonsequitur. And then her eyes flew open. “Baka!” she berated herself. JD was tall, broad shouldered, and badass enough to take on a master ninja without breaking a sweat. Maybe she couldn’t justify playing around with Ean because of the danger it would put him in, but JD was an entirely different matter!

As though he could sense Sakura’s demeanor changing, JD turned back toward her. “What…” he started to say, but Sakura was already leaping toward him again. This time, however, he didn’t dodge or block, and they went down in a heap next to Ean’s prone form. JD managed to squawk once before further protest was cut off by Sakura’s passionate lips smothering his.

After listening to the ensuing struggle for a moment, Ean rolled his eyes. “Geeze, JD,” he muttered. “What happened to ‘keeping the kink in the bedroom’?”
